How do i get the frayted spots on the hem on my roxy jeans??

i had to hem them coz im short and want the frayed spots on the hem so no one knows they hemmed any ideas on how to do this???How do i get the frayted spots on the hem on my roxy jeans??
use a cheese grater and just keep rubbing it on the fabric. the finer the cheese grater the better. It takes alot of patience but it works!!How do i get the frayted spots on the hem on my roxy jeans??

I've used a belt sander before. Gotta love dad's toolshed!
